This Giving Tuesday, help us break barriers for undocumented people.

Hi John,
I’m Jeanette Esparza, the owner of A’s Cleaning Services in Sacramento. I am a SEED grantee at Immigrants Rising and a champion for AB 2543 ([link removed]) , a groundbreaking law that will open up new business opportunities for undocumented entrepreneurs in California. In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, I am reflecting on how Immigrants Rising has enabled me to give back to the undocumented community.

Being undocumented in the U.S. prepared me to be always ready to jump into the unknown. From learning English as I navigate my new home, to losing my job of 15 years at the height of COVID-19, I have learned to embrace the unexpected. Over those years, I always dreamed of starting a cleaning business with my wife. Losing my job became an opportunity to take this dream seriously, which led me to Immigrants Rising, and the new experiences I did not see coming.
Donate today and help us transform policy so undocumented entrepreneurs like Jeanette can reach their full potential regardless of status. ([link removed])

After receiving Immigrants Rising’s SEED grant and the technical and community support that came with it, A’s Cleaning Services now employs multiple people and serves over 70 clients every month. I even stood in front of California representatives to speak on behalf of undocumented Californians! ([link removed]) Although I originally started this journey to spend more time with my son, I have become a changemaker, breaking barriers for other entrepreneurs like myself.
This Giving Tuesday, join Immigrants Rising in empowering and protecting undocumented individuals, no matter what the coming years may bring. ([link removed])
With my family, Immigrants Rising, and the undocumented community behind my back, any new obstacles no longer feel impossible. As I have been transformed into a catalyst for change in my community, I urge you to join me in shaping a future where everyone can be a leader regardless of status. ([link removed])
Striving together,
Jeanette Esparza
