Stand with us as we defend biblical values during this critical lame-duck session of Congress.

Dear John,

Giving Tuesday is here, and with it comes an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact.

The 2024 election has come to a close, bringing with it a second term for President-elect Donald Trump. As we move past the uncertainty that dominated the headlines leading up to the election, we at FRC are more resolved than ever to defend the biblical values that are foundational to our country.

While we celebrate the victories that came through the ballot box in November and the hope that accompanies them, it is clear that we must stay vigilant in our work to protect faith, family, and freedom.

Celebrating Christmas with our loved ones is just what we need after a long and contentious election season. But at FRC, we know that this is perhaps the most dangerous time of year for our shared values of faith, family, and freedom.

Congress is back in Washington, and the current lame-duck session presents a unique set of challenges -- but we remain steadfast in our resolve. Even as we pray for wisdom and discernment for our leaders, we recognize that the far Left is preparing to use this period to advance its agenda.

For those who may not know, a "lame-duck" session occurs in the period between the November election and when newly elected members of our government are sworn into office in January. This is a time when outgoing members of Congress -- who may have lost their re-election bids or chosen not to run again -- no longer face the accountability that voters provide. And all members are as far from the elections in two years as they will ever be.

Because of this lack of accountability, a lame-duck session is particularly dangerous. Legislators are free to push through controversial measures without fear of political consequences, often under cover of the holiday season when the public's attention is justifiably focused elsewhere.

We're in just such a session right now. The radical Left is preparing to push its agenda during the lame-duck session before it loses the ability to do so.

As we enter this critical time, will you consider making a special gift to support our efforts? Every dollar you give will be doubled thanks to a generous 2x Challenge Match. Your Giving Tuesday gift today will go twice as far in helping FRC stand for truth and fight back against the far Left's radical agenda.

PARTNER WITH FRC

The lame-duck session has often been used to push through unjust measures before a change in power. We saw this in 2010 when President Obama and Congress used the lame-duck session to repeal the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, paving the way for a series of events that eventually led to the legalization of same-sex marriage.

More recently, during the 2022 lame-duck session, we saw Congress push through the so-called Respect for Marriage Act, which cemented same-sex marriage as federal policy and severely undermined religious liberty.

These are just a few examples of how the far Left uses these critical weeks to pass radical legislation while the American people are focused elsewhere. But with your partnership, we will use our award-winning broadcast, Washington Watch, and our online news and commentary site, The Washington Stand, to shine a spotlight on the truth and hold our leaders accountable.

History shows us that when believers stand up together, we can make a difference!

Twice before, in 2021 and 2022, the Left has tried to force our wives and daughters to register with selective service, making them eligible for future military drafts. Thanks to your partnership, FRC and others worked to successfully defeat these efforts in the past.

But we must remain vigilant.

Many lawmakers will be tempted to cave under pressure and give in to the far Left's demands. The next few weeks will be critical, and Family Research Council is on the front lines -- informing, mobilizing, and holding our elected officials accountable.

This lame-duck session promises to be one of the most consequential seasons in Washington, D.C. Will you stand with FRC during this time? Your generous gift today will help us hold the line against radical policies and protect the values we hold dear.

DOUBLE MY IMPACT WITH FRC

We cannot afford to be complacent. Together, we must remain prayerful and vigilant, especially with Congress and the White House now in a season of unaccountability.

Ephesians 5:11-13 says, "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light."

That is exactly what FRC intends to do during this lame-duck season. We are committed to watching over Washington D.C. with a careful eye, on the lookout for threats to faith, family, and freedom.

Will you join us in shining the light of truth on Capitol Hill?

As the saying goes, "the price of freedom is eternal vigilance." But we are guided by the Light of the World: the Lord Jesus Christ. And there is no darkness that can overcome such a Light (John 1:5).
