Dear John,

As we head into the season of giving and take part in this year's #GivingTuesday, I am especially thankful for the Lillian's List Sisterhood.

Despite extremely disappointing national election results this year, here in North Carolina we helped elect 11 new and competitive Featured Candidates, along with all 22 of our Guardian incumbents, breaking the Republican supermajority in the NC House.

This means that when NC Republicans try to pass anti-abortion legislation, Governor-Elect Josh Stein will be able to veto it and Republicans will not have the votes to overturn his veto. NC will continue to be an abortion access point for the South, providing life-saving healthcare to thousands. This is because of our work to advance progressive women candidates who will champion reproductive freedom in office.

But we can't stop fighting now. Republicans still have a supermajority in the NC Senate, and the margin in the House is razor thin.
