Dear John,

Today is Giving Tuesday. Your support can help solve the world's most pressing challenges for people, nature and climate through the work of World Resources Institute.

*Your contribution matters now more than ever.* This has been an eventful year of elections across the world—and while climate issues were top of mind for some voters, we must do more to bring people on board with the global transition towards a safer and more prosperous world.

WRI stands as a source of clarity, providing critical research, data and strategic partnerships to fight climate change and protect nature. The challenges we face demand a focused yet systematic approach, and we’re ready to work together to unlock the global transformation needed for people and planet — especially with your support.

*You can create the change we need. Make a Giving Tuesday donation ( [link removed] ) that turns bold ideas into action for people, nature and climate.*

Our impact spans continents. I’d like to share just a few of WRI’s achievements that have been made possible by your help over the last couple of years:

* *Expanding Electric Buses in India:* In a critical step towards cleaner, healthier air, WRI India partnered with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to begin the transition away from polluting diesel buses. This collaboration resulted in a transformative $2.4 billion government commitment to deploy 10,000 electric buses across nearly 170 cities. This will not only provide safer public transit for over 170 million people but improve air quality while accelerating India’s race to net-zero. We are working to scale projects like this—that improve people’s lives—across cities and regions around the world.

* *Mapping Global Water Stress with Aqueduct:* Water is life, yet according to WRI’s Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas, over half the world's population experiences high water stress at least one month every year. By equipping the world with these valuable insights, we can turn data into solutions to address the growing water crisis and protect this vital resource for generations to come.

* *Fighting Global Nature Crime:* The world’s most biodiverse and carbon-rich lands are under attack—not just from environmental destruction, but also corruption and organized crime. WRI and our partners launched the Nature Crime Alliance to take decisive action: dismantling illegal supply chains, exposing financial crimes and protecting courageous environmental defenders—often Indigenous and local leaders risking their lives to safeguard the planet. By building this work together, we can secure a future where nature thrives, and defenders are safe.

Your support makes change possible. Together we can continue the fight and secure real solutions for people and our planet.
