Dear John,
As 2024 draws to a close, we enter a time of deep uncertainty, especially for those in need of abortion care.
Since 2012, A is For has been working to amplify art and artists that work to eradicate stigma against abortion. Our vision of a world in which every person has access to the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare free from judgment, scrutiny, and obstruction may seem out of reach at this moment, but we're not giving up, and we need your help to prepare for the work ahead.
A is For believes that art is critical to social change, and we take a creative approach to reproductive justice work:
This year we launched our free Abortion Book Club, featuring books that dispel abortion stigma; Our annual Playwriting Contest, which elevates new plays that center abortion and reproductive justice, just received a record 512 submissions; and This spring, we will bring the three winning plays to the stage for ourall it takes isONE ACT play festival, held in New York City.
But we also remain committed to creating access to abortion.
Our Beneficiary Program donates money to direct service providers in the states with the most restrictive abortion policies. This year, in partnership with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, A is For donated $33,500 to 21 abortion clinics, funds and reproductive justice organizations across the country. Since our founding we have donated $275,660 to the frontline fighters for abortion access.
By making a year-end gift to A is For, you will be supporting mission-driven programs, and helping ensure that more people receive the abortion care that they need and deserve.
Help us to create art and access.Donate to A is For
Thank you for your support!
