The verdict is in : Brian Kemp is screwing this up.

The Washington Post took a national poll and Brian Kemp has THE LOWEST approval rating of any governor by far on coronavirus response.

Is it any wonder? Here we've got a guy that:

- Was one of the last governors in the country to issue a shelter-in-place order

- Didn't know that you could have the virus without showing symptoms

- And a true sign of political weakness, even Donald Trump is distancing himself from this guy.

- And just recently made a goofy looking fake graph to justify reopening the state early.

The Monday Night Response

This guy Kemp... he ain't known for bein' a brain genius, and with the national spotlight on him, more and more Georgians are rejecting an inhumane approach to this disaster that puts them, their families, and their neighborhoods in the crosshairs.

So this week as we go into our next general meeting (more details to come there!) I want to talk about what the current priorities of the chapter are and how you can plug in with what we’re doing to actually make the times a little less challenging.

Our anti-austerity commission is holding a meeting tonight at 6, talking exclusively about confronting the legislature and protecting the most vulnerable service workers from (even more) budget cuts and tax breaks.

The Covid-19 committee is organizing in blocks across the city, organizing tenants, gardening, feeding people locally. They're meeting at 7.

The Local Elections group is also working on getting socialists and our allies elected to public office at the city, school board, county and state level across Georgia, they’re meeting at 8.

An Entire Week Of Action & Education

Tomorrow, Law at the Margins is hosting a “Revolutionary Politics in the Time of Neoliberalism” panel that we think is very much worth watching.

A lot of you have asked about the voting guide for the upcoming primaries. It’s almost finished and you should have it in your hands tomorrow afternoon, we'll email you about it as soon as it's ready.

There's a reading group for Marx's Capital Volume 1 this Wednesday.

Revolution Thursday is phonebanking. This is one of the most competitive districts IN THE COUNTRY and we have the opportunity to put Nabilah Islam and Micheal Owens in office - two candidates who have a deep commitment to serving and supporting the people in our state.

Membership Committee is having a mixer / venting session Friday evening. That will be your very best opportunity to look “under the hood” of this organization and find things you can do to help.

We’re also having our general meeting on Saturday. We’ll be talking to Meagan Day and Micah Uterecht, the authors of the wonderful book “Bigger Than Bernie” and talking about our plan to take on Brian Kemp and the corruption of the GOP.

It has literally never been a more exciting time to be a member of DSA.
