Dear John,

"Collective" is a word we use often here at the Solidarity Center – collective power, collective voice, collective action. The foundation of the labor movement is built on this idea: When people come together, they can be a force for change.

Today, on Giving Tuesday, we can be a force for change through collective generosity.

Because of donations to our Strategic Litigation Fund from worker allies like you, we’ve connected working people and their unions with lawyers from our International Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW) Network to rewrite the rules in many countries.

ILAW Network lawyers have supported impactful cases around the world, including over the failure of the government of Nepal to enforce its laws on forced labor, the exploitation of Philippine domestic workers employed by Pakistani diplomats in Switzerland and multiple violations of worker rights in Kenya committed by a subcontractor of Meta, the parent company of Facebook.

With modest grants from our Strategic Litigation Fund, ILAW Network lawyers are working in nearly every region of the world on litigation that promotes and defends the rights and interests of workers and trade unions and would set new legal precedents.

Our collective generosity today will go directly toward supporting this critical work.

As you consider your giving plans for the end of the year, I hope you will include a donation to our Strategic Litigation Fund.
