Email from Rep. Mann Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! I hope you and your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a peaceful start to the Advent season. I am back in Washington, D.C. for another week of legislative activity and meeting with Kansans. Follow me on social media to see more of my work. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That's what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov The Week Ahead This week, the U.S. House of Representatives will consider the Crucial Communism Teaching Act, which makes educational materials available to teach youth and high school students about the dangers and realities of communism. Over the past few years, far-left social media influencers have pushed a false narrative that embracing communism and socialism will lead to a more equal society. As a result, nearly one-third of Gen-Z reports having favorable views of communism. In President Reagan's first inaugural address as Governor of California, he famously said, "Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction." Communism is the exact opposite of the democracy and freedom our nation was founded upon. Communism is evil and has killed more than 100 million people. We cannot sit by idly as the next generation is under attack by this senseless ideology. This legislation ensures the next generation is taught the truth about the realities of communism and the dangers it presents to America and humanity. Read my Commitment to the Big First here Meetings in the Office Associated Equipment Distributors Federico Duerst U.S. Wheat Associates Jobs for America's Graduates- Kansas Holding President Biden Accountable Over the weekend, President Biden announced a pardon for his son, Hunter. Make no mistake, this pardon is wrong. President Biden's U.S. Department of Justice has refused to hold his family accountable all while relentlessly attacking his political opponents through the justice system. This is dangerous and unacceptable. I look forward to working with President Trump to end the weaponization and misuse of the federal government once and for all. Sounding the Alarm on the National Debt America's national debt has exceeded $36 trillion. The Congressional Budget Office projects that debt service costs alone could exceed $1 trillion. That's more than the U.S. is projected to spend on defense and infrastructure alone. Not only is our debt unsustainable, but it is also completely unfair to the generations who will inherit it and be held responsible for paying it. One of my biggest priorities in Congress is to break Washington's spending addiction and get our fiscal house in order. We cannot keep kicking the can down the road. I look forward to partnering with President Trump and our Republican House and Senate majorities to rein in our federal spending and reduce and reprioritize government spending. Joining the Congressional DOGE Caucus According to the Government Accountability Office, the federal government sent more than $235 billion in improper payments to people and entities that were ineligible to receive such payments last year. That's why President Trump announced that he was creating a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). With our national debt skyrocketing day by day and a lack of accountability for agencies that fail audits, I joined the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus to help make our government efficient again and reduce our fraudulent and wasteful spending. This week, House Republicans and I will meet with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to discuss ways we can work with President Trump to hold our agencies accountable and get our fiscal house back in order.     Visiting Washington, D.C.?
