We wanted to share a few of our accomplishments in 2024:
- Our Keepers of the Earth Fund supported 83 projects in 25 countries on issues related to land defense and autonomy; the transmission of Indigenous knowledge; food sovereignty and Indigenous economies; and the various forms of resistance to mining for the energy transition.
- Our Indigenous Community Media Fund supported 57 media projects in 27 countries totaling $480,000.
- We distributed $32,700 in funding to 6 Indigenous defenders in need of urgent support.
- We awarded 26 Fellowships to Indigenous youth to build capacities in Indigenous rights, Indigenous languages, cultures, and Traditional Knowledge.
- 46 Indigenous women participated in workshops, exchanges, and gatherings, including training in radio production and proposal writing.
- Our Indigenous Rights Radio program produced 174 programs translated in over 30 languages.
