I recently wrote about my experience having an abortion and how the biggest emotion I felt afterwards was relief. This is true for so many people who have abortions, but anti-choice leaders and politicians keep pushing harmful abortion stigma.
Abortion stigma isn’t a difference of opinion. It’s an incredibly harmful mindset that can affect people seeking care and even impact the number of providers in the U.S., making it more difficult for those seeking care to receive it.
I am thankful for my abortion and proud to tell my abortion story. No one should ever feel afraid to ask for help when facing an unexpected pregnancy. By sharing our stories, we can fight against abortion stigma and ensure those considering abortion have all the information to make the best decision for themselves.
