We don’t yet know exactly what the needs will be next year and beyond. But we know that CREW will never stop our work to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable.

Citizens for Ethics & Responsibility in Washington

John,

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a 2X-MATCHED Giving Tuesday donation to CREW. But first, let me explain why.

I have to admit, this Giving Tuesday feels different than the last few.

In just a few months, Donald Trump will take the oath of office to become the next president of the United States—an oath to support the Constitution that he’s broken before.

But as frightening as the prospect of another Trump presidency is—this one with far fewer guardrails—we don’t have the option of breaking down or pausing our work. In fact, it’s clear to me that CREW’s work is only going to be more important than ever.

That’s why CREW is preparing to take action—just like we always have.

In the first Trump administration, we filed lawsuits, filed complaints, gave congressional testimony, and published reports and investigations. Afterward, we led a successful lawsuit to remove an insurrectionist named Couy Griffin from office, and we even took Donald Trump to the Supreme Court to get him removed from the ballot for inciting insurrection.

We don’t yet know exactly what the needs will be next year and beyond. But we know that CREW will never stop our work to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable. And we know we have the expertise to be a crucial check against his authoritarian impulses.

That’s why we’ve already sprung into action working to protect the independence of nonprofits from political interference and advocate for the confirmation of a new head of the Office of Government Ethics–which just happened, in a rare recent victory–as well as pushing for the appointment and confirmation of inspectors general and for full background investigations into all Trump nominees, the need for which was made so apparent by the failed Matt Gaetz nomination.

If Trump follows through on the threats he’s made, there’s no question that our democracy will be in peril. While none of us alone can save it, when we all stand together, we can safeguard it, and begin to build a better, fairer democracy that works for all of us. We’re ready to play our part.

Our democracy is in peril, and we all have a role to play in protecting it. That’s why today I’m asking you to donate to CREW. Your donation today will be MATCHED, up to $50,000, to help us fight to defend our democracy, so there has never been a better time to donate. Click here to make a matched donation:

Every single one of your contributions helps us build on our work pursuing accountability, shining a light on corruption and pushing for ethics reform.

If you want to ensure that work continues, I hope you’ll consider making a donation this Giving Tuesday—we truly couldn’t do this work without supporters like you,

Noah Bookbinder
President
CREW
