Barack Obama has finally broken his silence on Donald Trump.
The 44th President has moved to powerfully denounce the selfish and reckless mindset that’s underlied the entire Trump agenda since Day 1 and now brought the country to this point -- with Obama calling Trump’s response to the pandemic an “absolute chaotic disaster.”
Mitch McConnell, who once said the single most important thing he wanted to achieve was making Obama a one-term president, has responded by laying the blame for the current situation at Obama’s feet -- saying the former president left no “game plan.”
It’s a claim CNN called “the opposite of right.” According to Obama administration Ebola response coordinator Ronald Klain, “We literally left them a 69-page Pandemic Playbook.... that they ignored.”
Republicans weren’t afraid to lie about Obama during his term, and it appears that hasn’t changed even though he’d been out of office for three years before the pandemic reached the U.S. But with the former president re-entering the public eye to speak out on the crisis, we need to know what Americans think of 44:
