John,
You’re probably getting a lot of requests for help this Giving Tuesday – but I hope you saw our email below. I’m so glad to have heard back from dozens of Common Cause Pennsylvania members who are ready to do what it takes for our democracy.
As we look ahead to the new year and take on Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, Common Cause Pennsylvania is gearing up to lead on the fights that matter most to you and stand strong against any attempt to silence our voices.
So for this Giving Tuesday, I’m asking you to consider chipping in to help power our efforts and support our work on the ground here in Pennsylvania. Even a small contribution can go a long way toward ensuring that our democracy works for all of us >>
Thank you for your generosity,
Philip Hensley-Robin, Executive Director
and the team at Common Cause Pennsylvania
John, you understand more than most people that our democracy is facing challenges on multiple fronts.
Because while many of us are rightfully bracing for Trump’s second term and his Project 2025 agenda, with Congress gridlocked, many of the most significant battles will play out in state legislatures. This means the biggest impact you can make right now—as a citizen, an activist, or a voter—is at the state and local level.
And John, Common Cause Pennsylvania is built for moments exactly like this.
We’ve spent years building grassroots power on the ground here in Pennsylvania – so that we can mobilize whenever necessary to protect voting rights, hold our lawmakers accountable, and defend our democracy. Here’s a look at what we’re planning for the coming year:
-
End Gerrymandering: Early next year, we will introduce a new state constitutional amendment to enact an independent citizens' redistricting commission. Working with legislators and our coalition partners, we will work to end gerrymandering in Pennsylvania once and for all.
-
Combating corruption and big money in politics: We're calling out corruption in state and local government, and will be advocating for solutions to limit the influence of big money in politics. We will fight for increased transparency and a ban on political spending by foreign-influenced corporations.
John, none of this is possible without your support. Whether it’s signing petitions, writing to lawmakers, or donating to power our efforts, every step we take together helps build a stronger democracy.
That’s because change doesn’t happen overnight—it starts with people like you and me taking an active role in our communities and working on the issues that affect us and our families. And with you by our side, we’ll keep fighting for a democracy that works for all of us.
Chip in now to help protect democracy in Pennsylvania >>
The road ahead won’t be easy, John, but we’ve faced tough fights before—and won. Together, we’ll rise to meet this moment and safeguard our democracy for generations to come.
Thank you for standing with us,
Philip Hensley-Robin, Executive Director
and the team at Common Cause Pennsylvania
P.S. – Don’t forget! Giving Tuesday is on December 3rd this year. We simply can’t do any of this critically important work without support from Common Cause Pennsylvania members like you, so please consider chipping in today >>
