Double your donation for women with disabilities in Nepal

Dear John,

Big Give Week 2024 starts today! If we can raise £26,500 for women with disabilities in Nepal in the next 7 days, it’ll be DOUBLED to a whopping £53,000 by two generous donors.

As luck would have it, today also marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024. It's a day to mobilise support for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities everywhere.

Last year, I’m sorry to say we fell just £2,065 short of our Big Give target. We raised lots together, but still we missed out on funding for a crucial cause. I couldn’t bear for that to happen again this year.

Our partner is a grassroots disability-led group dedicated to supporting women with disabilities in Nepal through training, funding, mental health support and so much more. But their budgets are incredibly tight. And they need this support too much for us to fall short.

We estimate that if 150 of you donate in the first 24 hours of the Big Give campaign, we’ll be on course to hit this year’s target. Be one of those 150 supporters, and help women with disabilities in Nepal now, John:

I’ll chip in £25 - and have it doubled to £50! (http://`)
I’ll chip in £50 - and have it doubled to £100! ([link removed])
I’ll chip in £75 - and have it doubled to £150 ([link removed])
I’ll chip in a different amount - and have it doubled! ([link removed])
The Nepal Disabled Women's Association

In Nepal, being born with disability is often viewed as a curse or because of a sin in a past life. People with disabilities report being routinely humiliated, insulted, and stigmatised. Women with disabilities are pushed even further to the margins of society. Tragically, they are four times more likely to experience violence from a partner than women without disabilities.

It’s a struggle for Nepalese women with disabilities just to get the education, employment and healthcare
many of us take for granted. That’s why the work we’re raising money for is so transformative - and so crucial.

Nepal Disabled Women’s Association (NDWA) is led by Nepalese women with disabilities, for Nepalese women with disabilities. They’re hoping this funding will enable them to train women on their rights, cover legal fees, offer skills training, provide mental health support and more to empower women with disabilities in Nepal.

Womankind Worldwide is one of NDWA’s only funders. So believe me when I say this: if we don’t raise this £26,500 in the next 7 days, this life-changing work may not go ahead.
John, you’ve got a rare chance just this week to have twice the impact with one donation. And every penny will go straight to supporting women with disabilities in Nepal. But we need 150 of you to donate in the next 24 hours - will you join in?

This International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024, let's send a clear message that disability rights are human rights. Everybody matters.

Thank you for the role you play in Womankind Worldwide.
