America is reopening, step by step! Those who have been out and about report a feeling
of energy and anticipation -- Americans want a return to our bustling economy and
way of life! States still on lockdown have been experiencing protests against lockdown.
In Michigan, armed protestors appeared at the state capitol, demanding the state
re-open. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described the act of protesting
while armed as "domestic terrorism." Apparently, in her universe, on cannot avail
oneself of the First Amendment "right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the Government for a redress of grievances" while at the same time availing
oneself of the Second Amendment right "to keep and bear Arms." It appears instead
that Sec. Clinton would have us pick and choose which Constitutional Right to express,
one at a time. Otherwise, we are behaving as "domestic terrorists." Here at the
Republican Party, we know of no rule of law that forces Americans to choose among
their rights at any given moment.
And locally...
we have the first stirrings of political events. Republican State Committeeman Val
Zudans reports that there is a group that meets weekly in Riverside Park for Trump
Motorcades, thereby spreading the word and excitement while maintaining social distancing
and virus pandemic protocols. This group is not affiliated with the Republican Party
or the Trump Campaign, but Val says they are worth checking out. He has forwarded
