Giving Tuesday is tomorrow, but we wanted to reach out early to ask you to make your first donation – and explain why this Giving Tuesday is so important in particular.
This final month before 2025 is crucial for ramping up grassroots donations before Trump returns to office.
We have unprecedented obstacles ahead of us at the federal level: Plans for mass deportations, gutting federal funding for agencies like Housing and Urban Development, and an administration filled with climate deniers that will hand over public lands to oil & gas companies responsible for the climate crisis.
We're preparing for the fight ahead to make New York state a leader in climate, housing, labor, and welcoming new immigrants. That’s why we set an ambitious but achievable goal to kickstart our end-of-year fundraising by raising $5,000 by 11:59 PM tomorrow.

We’re heading into a challenging year where our mandate is to scale up our organizing to win necessary protections for tenants, immigrants, and those on the frontline of the climate crisis.
Giving Tuesday is one of the most important fundraising days of the year for grassroots organizations like us. Your support on Giving Tuesday will help us:
- Recruit new chapter members across neighborhoods, develop local chapter leaders, and run direct actions on issues impacting our members
- Hold Know Your Rights trainings and defend our immigrant membership against anti-immigrant policies and threats of deportation
- Organize to win the Unemployment Bridge Program to close gaps in New York’s safety net for excluded immigrant workers
- Ramp up our climate organizing to protect and expand legislation like Local Law 97 – New York City’s Green New Deal– against corporate cronies and the landlord lobby
- Pass the Livable New York Act, landmark legislation that will fight the climate and housing crises by creating new green housing and thousands of good union jobs, regardless of someone’s immigration status or if they’re formerly incarcerated
Organizing isn’t glamorous work, but it is necessary to do the day-in, day-out work of fighting for our communities so we can win the livable future we deserve. We can only achieve our vision of a more affordable, welcoming, and just New York with your support.
