Rufous Hummingbird.
Protect birds like the Rufous Hummingbird with 2X the might. ([link removed])
“A strategic approach to bird conservation is needed to arrest declines of birds before they reach crisis levels.” That’s how the latest State of the Birds report characterized the situation facing the Rufous Hummingbird and 69 other birds who have already lost more than 50% of their populations in the last 50 years. These birds are on track to lose another 50% in the coming decades if conservation efforts do not improve.
We must urgently do more to bring back these “Tipping Point” species before it’s too late. And with your support, we can. So please, be one of the 49 caring friends we need to join us with a monthly gift before midnight. Remember: Thanks to a group of generous donors, your first monthly donation will be matched, up to $50,000, in honor of Giving Tuesday. ([link removed])

If climate change continues unchecked, 71% of the Rufous Hummingbird’s current breeding range could be lost. This should be a wake-up call for the disastrous impacts that climate change and habitat destruction have had on bird populations. But because birds have been telling us for quite some time that we must act—and because we have listened—we’re already protecting vulnerable birds in every landscape where we work. Through research, advocacy, and hands-on conservation action to maintain and protect resilient landscapes across the nation, we are pushing for the large-scale change it will take to ease habitat loss and help reverse the climbing temperatures of the climate crisis.

Birds need all of us to flock together for their protection. You give the Rufous Hummingbird—and all birds—their best chance at survival when you join our efforts. We still need 49 more friends to start a monthly gift before midnight. With just hours to go can we count on your support? ([link removed])
