WASHINGTON—In response to the recent passing of former Freedom House trustee Morton Abramowitz, the organization’s interim president, Nicole Bibbins Sedaca, issued the following statement:
“There have been few public servants as dedicated as Morton Abramowitz, and Freedom House deeply mourns his loss. Morton’s distinguished career spanned decades and continents—and wherever he was he always served as a relentless advocate for democracy and human rights. In his role as a Freedom House trustee, we benefited from his foresight and deep commitment to humanitarian ideals, peace, and diplomacy. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and all those who loved him.”
