Thanks to generous donors like you, many of our core states have led the way in planning, funding and building wildlife crossings that improve both driver safety and habitat connectivity. Last year, in Utah and Colorado, your contributions helped secure millions of dollars in state level funding that in turn allowed each state to secure federal grants of $22 million and $5.5 million, respectively, that will result in additional safe passage infrastructure.
In 2025, we aim to build off of this success and help secure dedicated annual funding for wildlife crossing infrastructure in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and Oregon that will help these states continue to plan and build wildlife crossings.
This Giving Tuesday, we need your help to:
Increase permanent annual State funding for multi-year wildlife crossing projects.
Research and develop model state policies to ensure that stream crossing projects simultaneously improve wildlife passage and climate resiliency.
Support state and local land use policy making to ensure that wildlife movement is considered in new development projects.
