Dear Friend,

The holiday season is a time for warmth, joy, and togetherness. But for warehouse workers, the next few weeks means a grueling work load, dangerous pace of work, and a higher risk of injuries. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Right now, the Warehouse Worker Injury Reduction Act (WWIRA) is sitting on Governor Hochul’s desk waiting to be signed into law. Through better job design, safety standards, training, and enforcement, WWIRA will keep workers safe on the job and make warehouse work sustainable.

This Cyber Monday, stand with warehouse workers. Join us to urge Governor Hochul to sign the Warehouse Worker Injury Reduction Act into law.

New York is the most dangerous state to be a warehouse worker, with an injury rate 54% higher than the national average. One in 11 New York State warehouse workers experiences an injury requiring medical attention each year. We also know that injury rates skyrocket during Prime Day and holiday seasons.

Governor Hochul has a chance to make New York the leader in warehouse safety. Let’s stand with warehouse workers this holiday season by calling for the Warehouse Worker Injury Reduction Act to be signed into law today.

In solidarity,

Lucas Shapiro

Deputy Director
