Hi John,
My name is Christian LoBue and I am so excited to join the National Institute for Reproductive Health and its Action Fund as the new president. First, I want to thank you for your support, not only for our fight to advance reproductive freedom in states and cities nationwide and for your support of the NIRH team and all they have accomplished while also processing immense grief after losing our past president, Andrea Miller, suddenly last year.
I’m honored and deeply humbled to step into the leadership of NIRH and its Action Fund, bringing over two decades of experience in reproductive rights and progressive advocacy with me to the fight. Leading at this critical moment—when 41 states restrict abortion access in some way—is both a profound responsibility and an urgent call to action. I’m eager to bring my vision and expertise to this incredible legacy of work, pushing forward a bold agenda to dismantle harmful bans, decriminalize our bodies, and transform state and local power for lasting change.
I am no stranger to the reproductive health, rights, and justice world. I’ve led and built advocacy campaigns and electoral strategy for leading reproductive rights institutions including NARAL (now Reproductive Freedom for All) and Planned Parenthood/Planned Parenthood Action Fund. I’ve also designed and led issue and electoral advocacy campaigns for clients across the progressive ecosystem at M+R Win.
All along my journey, I’ve always believed in the critical power of state and local advocacy. NIRH’s mission is not just a vision I share, it’s a winning model to protect our fundamental freedoms and fight against the anti-abortion agenda. In the coming weeks, I’ll be getting to know the wonderful supporters, partners, and team who drive NIRH’s work across the country. I am ready to roll up my sleeves, dig deeper into the work with you, grow our impact and sharpen our advocacy in order to create real and lasting change for the communities where we all live and those we serve.
In solidarity,
Christian LoBue
