Last week, I wrote you with amazing news about our first COVID community relief effort benefitting EMTs across New York City. Your generosity allowed us to sign a check for nearly $2,000 after matching each contribution.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to take a toll on our city, members of our community have unfortunately gone without meals or groceries. It is unacceptable that any of our neighbors go hungry.
That is why every week, my office is distributing nearly 3,000 meals in partnership with the World Central Kitchen and International Rescue Committee. Our partnership helps us feed hundreds of families in our district. We need your help to continue feeding our neighbors; we cannot risk running out of food to feed our community.
We are still raising funds to support our work with the World Central Kitchen and the International Rescue Committee. So far, we've raised over $1000 from your contributions to this week's relief fund. Every contribution is matched up to $22 by our campaign.
We cannot allow our neighbors to go hungry. If you are in a position to do so, please contribute what you can to our community relief fund and help us reach our fundraising goal. Every contribution will be matched by our campaign up to $22.
