It's 24 hours until Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving. This year, we are asking you to contribute to Survival's campaigns to make sure tribes like the Mashco Piro are not wiped out. Will you help?

No longer able to rely on the safety and shelter of their territory, uncontacted Mashco Piro gather on a riverbank in full view of their contacted neighbors and invading loggers

Double your donation

Dear Jack,

It’s 24 hours until Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving. With just one click, you can pledge your support to Indigenous peoples fighting for their lands and rights all over the world. Donate to Survival in the next 24 hours, and your gift will be matched at no extra cost to you.

Double my gift now

By giving a gift today, you’re supporting our work for people like the Mashco Piro in Peru. In the late 19th century, their ancestors fled into the depths of the Peruvian Amazon to escape brutal attacks and enslavement by invaders. 150 years later, the Mashco Piro are now the largest known uncontacted tribe on Earth, their forest home providing everything they need to thrive.

The loggers working are not only penetrating deep into the forest, they’ve also constructed around 200 kilometers of logging roads © FENAMAD

But now, even their last refuge is gravely threatened. Logging companies are decimating their lands for profit, and though they’re mounting a strong resistance, the Mashco Piro can only hold out for so long. Jack, the clock’s ticking. If we do nothing, Earth’s largest uncontacted tribe may be wiped out.

Support the Mashco Piro

Survival is lobbying Peruvian authorities to expand the Mashco Piro’s protected territory and revoke the licenses of logging companies operating in the area. Jack, we can’t do this without you. Survival rejects funding from governments and companies that violate Indigenous peoples’ rights in order to maintain our independence. Our vital work depends on the generosity of supporters like you.
