The transfer station will reopen following an unplanned four-day closure

Service alert: Olympic View Transfer Station reopens Monday, Dec. 2

After a four-day closure due to compactor issues and the Thanksgiving holiday, Olympic View Transfer Station will reopen on Monday, December 2, 2024 and resume normal operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Kitsap County has purchased a second garbage compactor that will be installed in 2025. This will allow the facility to process waste faster and provide a backup in the event of future compactor issues.
