** Hi, Sister District DC-VA Volunteers!

We have two events coming up this week! We hope you'll join us.
Tomorrow, May 18th at 6 p.m. we'll be having our first phonebank ([link removed]) for Jonathan Kassa. The election is in less than 200 days, and we're getting Jonathan's name out there before PA's June 1 primary (he is running unopposed). Jonathan's seat is a great opportunity to displace a Republican as the district he's running in was lost by just 889 votes. In PA, Democrats are just nine seats away from flipping the statehouse, which is critical to getting a much-needed seat at the redistricting table to un-gerrymander PA.
On Wednesday, May 20th at 7 p.m., we'll be hosting our second documentary night! RSVP ([link removed]) , and then vote for which one you'd most like to view:
Dark Money ([link removed]) - examines one of the greatest present threats to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate money on our elections and elected officials.
Slay the Dragon ([link removed]) - is about a secretive, high-tech gerrymandering initiative launched 10 years ago threatens to undermine our democracy.
A House Divided ([link removed]) - is about the rise of the tea party and modern politics.
American Factory ([link removed]) - is about a Chinese company that takes over a shuttered General Motors plant. It's the first film produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company.
