While the election results across the country were not what Democrats hoped for, New York Democrats delivered — winning five toss-up congressional districts, re-electing Kirsten Gillibrand to the U.S. Senate, and electing Dems down the ballot.

As Gov. Hochul told Spectrum News,

“I’m proud of what we did here in New York. I’m very proud of what we did here. Five out of seven wins in our swing districts, defying the national odds. We worked hard. We had good candidates. We run on the issues. That’s how you win. We’ll continue to do that.”

New York Democrats built an impressive ground game, hiring organizing staff to connect with communities across the state.

Because of Governor Hochul’s leadership in collaboration with Senator Gillibrand and Leader Jeffries, New York Democrats have the infrastructure to win — not just this year but far beyond.
