Meet our 2020 Candidates

Emerge New Mexico invites you to get to know our 71 candidates currently running for office! We will be highlighting candidates daily until the New Mexico Primary on June 2, 2020 so keep an eye out for our Emergistas running for office! Scroll down to learn more!

Edwina Cisneros, NM House of Representatives District 13

My goal in the State Legislature is to work on education, economic development and safety. I want to work on legislation that helps our children understand how to manage finances and improve the access to vocational and career training. Our community needs easier access to Rio Rancho and the greater Albuquerque Area, so I want to ensure that roads and accessibility are completed and ready for new business to join the West Mesa. Safety for our children, our families and our elderly are paramount to me. I want to ensure that our families have access to reproductive health. I support gun safety legislation. I want to ensure that our elderly can retire with dignity and without fear.

Katharine Clark, Santa Fe County Clerk

Katharine is a small business owner with over 10 years of high-level management practice, including building effective teams. She has managed diverse teams in the private, non-profit and academic sector, which has prepared her to lead a diverse staff in the clerk’s office, ensuring inclusivity and fairness. She also served as a Police Review Commissioner, as well as a union organizer. Katharine is a former Roosevelt Institution Policy Fellow, a former Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fellow, and currently serves on the Animal Control Advisory Board for Santa Fe County. Katharine has her MBA in Public Policy & Human Resources from the University of New Mexico and a dual BA in Cognitive Neurosciences & Interdisciplinary Studies in “Ethical/Moral Psychology” from UC Berkeley

Pam Cordova, NM State Senate District 30

“I'm a retired teacher of 26 years who has lived and worked in this district for my entire career. My family has lived in the heart of New Mexico for generations. I am working hard to earn each and every vote in Cibola, McKinley, Socorro, and Valencia Counties so we can finally have a Senator who represents the Democratic values of this district.”

Meredith Dixon, NM House of Representatives, District 20

“I am excited to announce that I'm running for New Mexico State Representative, District 20. After many years of working alongside inspirational political leaders, but never a candidate myself, I decided that I want to be a part of the solution and work to create positive impacts for New Mexico. As a mother of two young girls, I also want to show my daughters that women bring unique perspectives and are ready to lead. I want to show them that we can work together to find durable solutions that are in the best interest of our whole community.”
