"I was diagnosed
with lung cancer at 35,
with no risk factors."
Cindy is no stranger to lung disease. Having grown up
with asthma, she knows better than most how
struggling to breathe can bring life to a standstill.
That’s why she chose to join a pioneering research
study funded by the American Lung Association: to help
others like her.Little did she know that her selfless
decision would end up saving her life.
Shortly after joining the study, Cindy was devastated
to learn that she had lung cancer. The diagnosis and
subsequent treatment — which included the removal
of her lung’s right upper lobe — reminded her that every
day is a blessing and gave her a renewed appreciation
for the Lung Association’s work.
As someone who has previously given in tribute to a
loved one, you know better than most how lung disease
can upend lives — for individuals, families and whole
communities.
That’s why we’re offering you a special
opportunity to double your impact ahead of
#GivingTuesday. Donate now and your gift will go
200% further.
