Hi there,
Mifepristone, a medicine that allows the user to safely induce an abortion at home, was approved by the FDA almost two decades ago.
But since that time, its availability has been heavily regulated. Experts at the New England Journal of Medicine, along with AGs from 20 states and the District of Columbia, have previously called on the FDA to allow doctors to send the pill to patients by mail just like any other medication -- a change that would be more important now than ever before.
But a federal appeals court stacked with Trump appointees has now ruled that access to abortion medication can be restricted during the pandemic. It's a shameless exploitation of a global health crisis -- and an all-out assault on reproductive freedom.
With Americans who need reproductive care running out of options and running out of time, we need to send a strong message now. Please tell us:
Should pro-choice medication be available to Americans now?
