Hi–

You don't need us to tell you that the past month was difficult. The
stakes for the safety of our communities and loved ones could not be
higher following the election results. That's why our movement's
life-saving work is more important than ever.

We're here to fight to keep our communities safe, no matter what.

Read on below to learn more about last month's work and what's ahead:

330 and counting—that's how many Moms Demand Action volunteers ran for
elected office, from school boards to statehouses to Congress, and WON.
Not to mention the total 3,300 Gun Sense Candidates who claimed victory
this election cycle.

We're deeply proud and inspired by the volunteers who ran for office in
2024. The same community that helped them win is there for you. [ [link removed] ]Join
Moms Demand Action to connect with advocates near you to fight for gun
safety in 2025. It's going to take all of us.

The gun industry has a perverse interest in perpetuating gun violence—it
rakes in $9 billion each year while we pay the price with our lives.
Despite fueling a public health crisis that is the leading cause of
death for American children and teens, the gun industry continues to fly
under the radar and skirt accountability for the harm, death, and trauma
its products cause.

Last month, [ [link removed] ]Students Demand Action launched a new campaign to empower
young people—who have grown up experiencing lockdowns and daily gun
violence—to expose the gun industry's #KillerBusiness for what it is and
ask people: [ [link removed] ]Are you good with that?

Research Corner

Hateful rhetoric and violence against transgender people has become a
feature of society and politics across the globe in recent years, but in
the US—where there are more guns than people—it often turns lethal.

To better understand the way guns are fueling this deadly crisis,
Everytown Research analyzed over 200 homicides of transgender and
gender-expansive people in the United States and Puerto Rico from 2017
to 2022. The evidence is clear: When hatred is paired with unfettered
access to firearms, marginalized groups face real-life violence.

November 18 was the 5th annual National Injury Prevention Day—when some
of the nation's leading injury and violence prevention organizations
came together to empower communities to make safe choices for their
families as they live, learn, and play.

On National Injury Prevention Day and year-round, our Moms Demand Action
volunteers spread the word through the [ [link removed] ]Be SMART program about how
secure firearm storage can help keep kids and families safe. [ [link removed] ]Read

Take Action

Everytown's Demand a Seat program is training grassroots volunteers and
gun violence survivors to take the next step in their advocacy: Running
for office. Because in order to be part of the solution, you have to
demand a seat at the table.

Demand A Seat is preparing a new generation of leaders by equipping our
volunteers with high-quality educational training, mentorship, and
network opportunities to prepare them to run for office and work on
campaigns.

[ [link removed] ]If you're a current Moms Demand Action or Students Demand Action
volunteer, consider applying for the 2025 Demand A Seat program by
December 15.

Thanks for being a part of this movement,

Everytown for Gun Safety
