This is a hard government deadline. NIH destroyed 28 cats in Louisville. Now, it may renew another payout to the lab. Read below to stop them or unsubscribe.
Taxpayer—I’ve been trying to get in touch with you because something truly awful has happened.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) paid the University of Louisville to kill 28 cats. They wiped out an entire cat colony.
Tonight, they may ram through even more funding to this laboratory.
If it happens, the Louisville lab won’t just take more of your hard-earned tax dollars. It may exterminate 28 more cats.
This is bad situation. Here’s how the white coats killed them.
DEATH SENTENCE: Each cat was restrained in a vise… his small torso was immobilized… and his spine was severed.
Stereotaxic frame used to keep an animal’s body locked in place.
Then, each cat was WATERBOARDED: forced to swallow water repeatedly as it’s shoved down his mouth.
Some of the kittens were tortured here for 1,000 DAYS.
WASTEFUL: The NIH has already funded at least three other cat torture grants just like it. And tonight, they might pay for it again.
28 more kittens may suffer an agonizing death for no good reason!
Our government doesn’t care. Payout #R01NS110169 may be renewed tonight for another round of waterboarding torture.
3-HOUR DEADLINE: Our government already destroyed an entire colony of kittens. Tonight, we’re fighting to spare 28 more cats, save other animals at NIH-funded labs, and prevent another tragedy in Louisville.
But if we don’t cover our budget, they may die. Horribly.
So please, RUSH anything you can before midnight to help us win these life-or-death battles.
Please help!

P.S. Taxpayer, 11:59 PM DEADLINE: Don’t let NIH send them any more blood money! Please help spare more Louisville kittens (even $2.80—just 10 cents per cat!) and other animals. Here’s a secure link.
P.P.S. FOR THE NEXT 180 MINUTES: I’m scared to DEATH that we'll lose for the worst (and totally preventable) reason: lack of money. But a big-hearted supporter has stepped up. If you commit to a monthly gift this evening (even if it’s just $2.80/month), she’ll MULTIPLY by FIVE whatever amount you send right now—that’s 5x the impact for cats and animals—and we’ll get it in time for our rapid response effort!!!!
