The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is in the election process for our 2025 National Board of Directors! Since you're an OAC member, you have the privilege of helping to build our incredible leadership.

Below, you will find our 2025 National Board of Directors slate. Please review this slate and take action if needed. Alternate candidates may be presented but must receive FIVE percent of the vote to be on the slate. If you do not have any alternative candidates or objections, no action is needed at this time. Details about this process may be found below the slate of presented candidates.

2025 New Directors

Kesha Calicutt

Kesha Calicutt is a dedicated educator, health advocate and founding member of the OAC's Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce. A special education teacher and Education Advisory Member for The Educator Collective, a non-profit committed to empowering teachers, Kesha brings a wealth of expertise in fostering inclusive environments. Since the OAC’s inaugural Dallas event, she has passionately supported its mission to reduce obesity stigma and improve access to resources.

A Texas native, Kesha enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new fitness activities and volunteering in her community. Through her roles on OAC committees, she is committed to empowering individuals and advancing health equity within her community and beyond.

Angela Fitch, MD, FACP, FOMA

Angela Fitch, MD, FACP, FOMA is the current president of the Obesity Medicine Association. She practiced primary care for 10 years before becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2012. She is currently the Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of knownwell, a comprehensive longitudinal obesity treatment and primary care clinic focused on delivering unbiased non-stigmatizing care for patients with obesity throughout the country.

Dr, Fitch is a former Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard University, the former Co-Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Weight Center, a current ex-officio board member of the Obesity Action Coalition and a founding member of the Massachusetts Coalition for Action on Obesity. She is board-certified in obesity medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics.

Directors Renewing their Terms

Sunil Daniel, MD, FTOS, FOMA:

Dr. Sunil Daniel is a board certified obesity medicine physician with fellowship training in clinical nutrition and obesity management. He is a fellow of The Obesity Society and has authored several scientific papers on obesity and its medical management. Dr. Daniel is a Duke University-trained Integrative Health Coach and an innovator who is passionate about developing mobile technology enabled weight management solutions that are both evidence based and meaningful to the user.  He takes pride in sharing with others his own success and challenges with weight loss and weight maintenance and serves on the Education Committee.

Anh-Vu Pham:

Anh-Vu Pham is a passionate OAC member known for using his voice and personal experiences to support others in their health journeys. Like many, Anh-Vu has struggled with obesity since childhood and has used those experiences to advocate for obesity treatments, speak up against weight stigma, and help change perceptions of obesity. Before becoming an Application Programmer Analyst in his current career, he successfully managed a bariatric office and led a bariatric support group in Buffalo, New York. Since becoming an OAC member, Anh-Vu has actively recruited many new members to OAC and was also named "OAC Member of the Year" in 2018. Anh-Vu currently serves on OAC's Membership Committee as well as the Inclusivity and Diversity Task Force, and he looks forward to growing in more leadership roles.

Please note: The election process also formally votes for the renewal of the above Directors of the OAC National Board.

What to do Next...

According to OAC's bylaws, the above slate will officially be elected on December 30, 2024, unless FIVE percent of OAC's membership submits an additional individual to be considered within 30 days of when this slate is presented. 

If you wish to submit a nominee to be considered for the Board of Directors, please email [email protected] with your name, the nominee's name, and the nominee's contact information. Anyone proposed must be a current member of the organization. If additional nominees are submitted, an official election ballot (including the above slate and any additional nominees) will be sent to OAC's membership. If you have no objections and/or suggestions for additional nominees, no action is needed
