President Trump just wrapped up a campaign rally here in Manchester.
It’s no surprise that Trump is making an early campaign stop here. New Hampshire is an important state -- as always, we’ll be the first in the nation to hold a primary. But there’s more to his visit than that: GOP strategists think he can win New Hampshire in 2020, and that means they’re going to spend hundreds of thousands in outside money in an attempt to turn our state red.
The Trump campaign stopped in the 1st District because they know I’m one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the House. This seat has flipped between Republican and Democratic representation four times in the last five elections, and an incumbent has not won re-election in this district since 2008.
Granite Staters don’t stand for name-calling and hate-spreading, but Trump came to my hometown to do just that.
