Last week, People For received notice that Senate Democrats, under the leadership of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, agreed to abandon efforts to confirm four essential court of appeals nominees. This is unacceptable. With just a month left to confirm Biden judges to federal court positions, Senate Democrats should be going all out to confirm all pending nominees. The mission of filling our federal courts with exceptionally qualified and fair-minded judges committed to equal justice for all is too important to compromise.

The incoming Trump administration and MAGA Republican-controlled Congress promise to be devastating for civil and human rights. Far-right extremists, like Representative Nancy Mace, have already started their work to attack vulnerable communities. She recently introduced legislation that would ban transgender people from using the restroom aligned with their gender identity on federal property throughout the nation. Together, we must fight back and protect trans rights!
Donald Trump announced via social media that former ICE Director and Project 2025 contributor Tom Homan will become his “border czar” and will “be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin.” This appointment—like many others that have followed—is evidence that Trump’s rejection of Project 2025 and its right-wing policy agendas was a lie meant to protect him from negative reaction to the extremist agenda.
