One year ago today the House passed the Equality Act, a bill that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity, because everyone in this country deserves equal protection under the law.

I proudly cosponsored this legislation and worked to pass it alongside my friends Sharice Davids and Chris Pappas.

Sharice, Chris and I all made history in 2018 when we became the first LGBT representatives from our respective states, and we’re all running for reelection in very competitive districts.
