Friend -- When the Roberts-Kavanaugh-Gorsuch Supreme Court ruled that federal courts could not place limits on partisan gerrymandering, Justice Kagan provided a powerful dissent.
"For the first time in this nation's history, the majority declares that it can do nothing about an acknowledged constitutional violation." -- Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan
In truth, the conservative justices' logic was absurd.
But at the NDRC, we've never depended on one court or one case to move our work forward. That's why we have continued pushing our multi-pronged strategy to end gerrymandering:
- Helping to win a ton of elections in 2019 (and one in 2020!)
- Continuing to educate voters and leaders about the importance of fair redistricting
- And now, building on our scope of work to take on Republican voter suppression
But what happens next depends on you. Will you help us fight for fair elections in 2020 and secure equitable maps in 2021?
