Today in America, LGBTQ+ people can still be fired, evicted, or denied public accommodation. That's just wrong.

Andy and his Democratic colleagues in the House think it's unacceptable that LGBTQ+ Americans don't have equal protection under the law, and they tried to change that. A year ago today, every Democrat in the House voted in favor of H.R. 5: the Equality Act.

The Equality Act is a historic bill that would expand protections and make sure we live up to our values. It would ban discrimination in the workplace, housing, and transportation services. But a year after the House passed this essential and overdue piece of legislation, it still sits on Mitch McConnell's desk.
