A monthly legislative update from the desk of Representative Ben Moss, Vice Chair of the N.C. House Freedom Caucus.
Hi John,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday surrounded by loved ones.
I am immensely grateful for the support of our constituents in Richmond and Moore counties who've re-elected me to serve another 2 years representing our communities in the NC House. Together, we’ll continue leading with common sense conservative policies that keep our region and our state moving forward.
It is an honor to serve as your State Representative, and I sincerely appreciate your continued trust. In this newsletter, you'll find key highlights of our recent work at the General Assembly — including the latest veto override.
As always, feel free to contact my office if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback to share.
At your service,
Ben
Representative Ben T. Moss, Jr.
North Carolina General Assembly
** HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
------------------------------------------------------------
As we continue to celebrate this Thanksgiving weekend, let’s cherish the moments that bring us together and look ahead with hope for the future. Grateful for this great state, its incredible people, and the shared purpose that unites us. Hope you had a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
** VETO OVERRIDE: HOUSE BILL 10
------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, the NC House overrode the Governor’s veto of House Bill 10, which requires local sheriffs to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement and provides funding for Opportunity Scholarships so that every parent can choose the educational setting that best suits the needs of their children. Having received the 2/3 majority to override in each chamber, the bill is now law.
** THANK YOU, HOUSE DISTRICT 52!
------------------------------------------------------------
Together, we secured a Major Victory! 🏆 Thank you to the voters of Richmond & Moore counties for showing up and casting your ballot in support of our campaign for re-election. I look forward to another 2 years serving the best communities in the state!
** LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
------------------------------------------------------------
The General Assembly has adjourned until December 2nd. Our office remains open to serve as a resource, standing ready to help you navigate state government, answer your questions, & listen to your feedback or suggestions.
