Dear John,
The Trump Administration is attacking science and trying to make it harder to study the damaging effects of pesticides.
The pesticide chlorpyrifos can harm children’s brains and can cause lifelong health issues. People can be exposed simply by eating common foods. And it’s one of the most toxic pesticides to bees.
Now, the EPA is trying to push through a new rule that would make it impossible to use the best available science to regulate chlorpyrifos and other toxic pesticides. This would make it even easier for the pesticide industry to poison pollinators and our children. We need you to stop this rule before it becomes final -- will you tell the EPA to stop suppressing science?
Tell the EPA: Stop protecting the pesticide industry at the expense of children!
The Trump Administration has been at war against the facts about toxic pesticides for years. In 2018, it cut funding for all children’s environmental health centers. One of these centers was directly responsible for showing how badly chlorpyrifos damages children’s brains.
This proposed rule builds on these attacks on science. It would allow the EPA to refuse to acknowledge peer-reviewed scientific studies unless researchers go against the norms of science and reveal confidential information about the participants. This rule is an attack on our privacy and health and could be used to further censor information on toxic chemicals like chlorpyrifos.
Make no mistake: The EPA is not proposing this rule to help our communities and environment. It’s looking for any excuse to line Big Polluters’ pockets and let them continue poisoning our communities.
Fight Trump’s latest giveaway to Big Ag: Tell the EPA to put people over corporate profits!
The Trump Administration has been trying to gut our bedrock environmental protections since day one. It’s repeatedly refused to ban pesticides like bee-killing neonics and cancer-causing glyphosate. Now, it’s going after the independent research showing the harm these toxic chemicals cause.
The EPA should not put the pesticide industry’s profits before public health. We can’t let it attack our families, bees, and our planet. It’s up to you to stop the EPA from suppressing science.
Send a message to the EPA: Tell the agency to stop suppressing science and to protect our environment!
Standing with you,
