Hi John,
The past few months have been a challenging time for all of us, and have also been a test of our campaign’s strength -- and now, we’re seeing the results of our hard work.
After we launched our first campaign ad, featuring frontline medical workers and the dire need to elect scientists to make a difference in Washington, CNN took notice. (Headline and photo below!)
CNN featured our race in NY-01, showing what we’ve known all along: voters are eager to replace science deniers with scientists.
In my conversation with CNN Politics editor Simone Pathe, I recalled how and why I decided to step up and run. In our nation’s history, we’ve never had an administration so hostile to science, removing expertise at every level. This November, we can and must change that -- and the way we fight back is by electing scientists. If I am elected, I will be the first ever woman with a Ph.D. in science to serve in Congress.
Our campaign offers a strong contrast with the Republican rhetoric -- we are running on a message of following evidence and facts when making policy decisions. That is exactly what voters are looking for.
Make no mistake: this race is not yet won. But I know -- because my team has the data to prove it -- that we will win when voters learn who I am and learn that in Congress, I’ll analyze the facts and find solutions that benefit us all.
I am deeply grateful for the support you have shown me. Together we’ll replace a science-denier with a climate hawk.
Thanks again for everything,
Nancy
