I know folks are feeling pessimistic about the current state of our country and government. Between Trump’s victory and all of these disastrous cabinet appointments, it’s easy to fall down a rabbit hole and question what we can do to prevent the worst.

So if there’s one piece of reassurance I can give you at this time, it’s this: I have your back.

I’ve fought for Michigan’s 11th district for six years, and I’d be damned if I gave up now.

Despite our feelings, it’s important to remember that these aren’t entirely unprecedented times. We’ve been here before. And now we’re prepared and determined to head into this next year ready to build a winning coalition that will defend our basic freedoms.

I feel more fired up than ever to protect what we’ve accomplished, and please know that I will stand up for you no matter what.

In the spirit of being thankful, I want you to know how honored I am that you’ve had my back for the past several years. In this time of uncertainty, rest assured I have yours.
