We must speak truth: No one should face discrimination because of who they are or who they love. Yet in a majority of states, there are no laws that explicitly protect LGBTQ+ people from being fired from their jobs, evicted from their homes, or denied critical services.

Until all of us are equal, none of us are equal. We must never let anyone stand alone in this fight. That's why one year ago today the House of Representatives passed the Equality Act, which extends federal civil rights protections to LGBTQ+ Americans and outlaws discrimination of any kind on the basis of sexual orientation.

I have worked on this historic legislation for years as a Senate co-sponsor, and I won't stop fighting until it becomes law. Neither will my three Democratic colleagues, Chris Pappas, Angie Craig, and Sharice Davids, who led the fight to get the companion bill passed in the House.

Chris, Angie, and Sharice made history in 2018 when they became the first LGBTQ+ representatives from their respective states and I'm honored to work with them. But now, they're running for re-election in some of the toughest districts in the country.

Help me make sure that Chris, Angie, and Sharice have what it takes to fend off Republican attacks and keep the Democratic House majority in 2020. Will you split a donation between their campaigns so we can continue fighting for equality?

The GOP wants nothing more than to defeat Chris, Angie, and Sharice and undo all our hard-fought victories — including the Equality Act. We need Chris, Angie, and Sharice in this fight.

I’m doing all I can to help protect these new members in key swing districts but it'll take a surge of grassroots support. With control of the House hanging in the balance, Republicans are building their dark money war chests and preparing to spend big to seize these seats. Losing these history-making public servants would be a tragedy.

Will you rush a donation to Chris, Angie, and Sharice's re-election campaigns right now to show your support? Anything you can give will go a long way in the fight for equality.
