John,
Here at Victory Institute, we’re staying safe at home (and hope you’re safe as well). But we’re still working hard to bring you face to face with all our amazing campaign experts, program participants and elected officials. Take a look at what's coming up next!

VICTORY INSTITUTE LIVE: Queer Political Participation/Leadership in South Africa
Join International Programs Manager Alhelí Partida for a discussion with former trainee Thokozile Nhlumayo and learn more about queer political participation in South Africa! Thokozile is the former Executive Secretary of the International Youth Parliament as well as a future Mandela Washington Fellow (she'll start next year!). Hear from Thokozile about what she learned from our 2019 LGBTQ Political Leadership Learning Institute in South Africa and how Victory Institute’s programs are changing the face of South African politics, one leader at a time. Democracy in Crisis: LGBTQ Leadership in Bolsonaro’s Brazil
The health, rights and security of the LGBTQ community in Brazil are under attack. Since his election in 2018, arch-conservative President Jair Bolsonaro has singled out his LGBTQ constituents for ridicule and violence. In fact, Bolsonaro is so dangerous for our community and for democracy in Brazil that he’s earned the nickname “Trump of the Tropics.” Join openly gay Brasilia legislator Fábio Félix and our VP Ruben Gonzales for a one-on-one conversation on the state of human rights in Brazil. Set a reminder here. [[link removed]]

While we might not be able to meet in person for a little longer, we’ll keep working hard to train a new generation of LGBTQ leaders who will stand up for our health and safety. Thank you again for standing with us.
See you in the comments section!
