Judge cancels hundreds of oil and gas leases in Montana
Montana landowners, farmers, and conservation groups won big recently after a federal judge halted a giant oil and gas industry giveaway on the state’s public lands. The government’s lease sale would have opened up 145,000 acres for drilling, paving the way for a destructive fracking boom.
