Mike also believes it is critical for non-profits like food banks, churches, and homeless shelters to be protected from the looming threat of COVID-19 liability lawsuits if they have made good-faith efforts to follow health and safety guidelines.

He sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee requesting that they consider these organizations and the critical needs they meet in our communities as the Senate crafts the latest legislation in response to the pandemic.

Mike told Fox News:

"These organizations have been leading the charge in feeding our neighbors spiritually and physically during the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to be on the frontlines as we begin to recover. Whether such provisions are included in a future COVID-19 package or in stand-alone legislation, we should ensure that these organizations receive equal protections from frivolous lawsuits during these trying times."

These important community institutions need to have the freedom to safely and effectively help those who need it the most, without having to worry about being bullied into shutting their doors over a frivolous lawsuit.
