Walking in a winter wonderland in Oldham
Step into Christmas tomorrow (Saturday 30 November) and visit a giant Snow Globe in the town centre.
The snow globe will be set up outside Rhode Island Coffee from 11am to 4pm - perfect for snapping some magical festive photos. Please note, a queuing system will be in place.
Plus, don’t miss the walkabout Christmas Crackers bringing smiles at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm for festive fun.
Oldham Music Centre is serving up a cracker of a Christmas
The annual Mince Pie Gig will be kicking off the season for Oldham Music Centre today (Friday 29 November).
The rock and pop festival by the music service pop department will be held at The Lyceum on Union Street from 5.30pm. To book your tickets [click here]([link removed])
Talented stars of tomorrow will be performing Christmas classics at the Junior Christmas Festival in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Tuesday at 7pm.

Then on Wednesday at 7.30pm, it's the annual Oldham Music Centre Christmas Festival, featuring the borough’s best young singers and musicians.

Have Your Say on the School Travel Strategy
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is hosting two online sessions for residents to learn more about the School Travel Strategy and consultation.

Rugby legend is heading home for Christmas
Rugby League and fundraising legend Kevin Sinfield CBE is coming home on the final day of his latest epic fundraising challenge on Saturday 7 December.
He is running in memory of his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow, who passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in June.
The day will start at 7.15am at Old Trafford, the place where the pair created so many special memories during their playing days with Leeds Rhinos.
He will then head to Manchester via Media City before calling to the Etihad Stadium on his way to his home town at Oldham.

Changes to Christmas and New Year bin collections
Please be aware that there will be changes to the waste and recycling rounds due on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
Alternative collections are as follows:
• Bins due on Wednesday 25 December will be collected on Saturday 28 December, including green bins and food caddies.
• Bins due on Thursday 26 December will be collected earlier on Saturday 21 December.
• Bins due on Wednesday 1 January will be collected on Saturday 4 January.
Please note - for collections on 21 December and 4 January, green bins and food caddies will not be emptied, so do not put them out. They will be collected as normal on Wednesday 8 January.
