This Sunday, 17 May, is the International Day Against all LGBTIQ-phobias (In short, IDAHOBIT).

IOM stands with all LGBTIQ+ individuals around the world and reiterates its commitment to ending the abuse and discrimination they face.

In line with this year’s global theme, Breaking The Silence for all those who face hardships because of who they are, we are sharing with the world the story of a Syrian refugee who was able to reunite with his relatives, find safety and start anew in Argentina.

“In some years, I imagine a better life for myself,” says Majd, “I see myself employed, with my family.”

“I am free and I have rights. I feel more comfortable with my family and these people," said Majd in his new home in Argentina.
