Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving, we thank the people in our community.
Thank you to our farmers. Wisconsin's more than 58,000 farms have long been a backbone of our state's economy. Thanks to Wisconsin workers and farmers, our state is a leader in the agriculture industry.
Thank you to our health care workers. Wisconsin is home to more than 230,000 health care professionals who have continued to work hard for our community. I am thankful for each of our health care professionals working on the front lines and behind the scenes.
Thank you to our first responders and law enforcement. They work around the clock to keep us safe today and every day. Law enforcement responds to life and death situations. I commend their courage and am grateful for their service.
Thank you to our veterans, servicemembers, and their families. More than 21,000 active duty servicemembers call Wisconsin home. It is because of our troops fighting for our freedom that we are able to enjoy the holidays with friends and family. To all the servicemembers overseas who are away from their families this week, we are grateful for your sacrifice.
Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!
Congratulations to This Year's Congressional App Challenge Winners!
The Congressional App Challenge inspires students to code, engages Members of Congress, and reaches every corner of America. Since 2013, the members of the U.S. House of Representatives have challenged students in their districts to create and submit original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge.
Congratulations to this year's Congressional App Challenge winners! Creating an app takes time, skill, patience, and planning. The App Challenge is a great way to promote STEM education and teach students how to be innovative.
Rishi Suryavanshi and his app, Botanical, is the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Wisconsin's First Congressional District. Botanical is an AI-powered plant care app that provides personalized care recommendations, helping users nurture healthy plants.

ICYMI: Protecting Patients and Addressing IV Shortage
Recently, I led the Wisconsin delegation in urging the Biden-Harris administration to take immediate action to address the nationwide IV fluid shortage due to the damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
The largest manufacturer of IV fluids and dialysis solutions in the U.S., Baxter International, was significantly impacted by the rain and storm surge from Hurricane Helene and is still in the process of returning to full operation.
Unfortunately, I have heard from Wisconsin hospitals and other medical providers who were forced to postpone and cancel elective procedures for patients due to the lack of IV supplies.
I'm working to ensure the administration takes immediate action to address the shortage and protect patients.

This week, the Janesville Gazette highlighted the challenges this shortage is posing in our community.
