A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
During this season of giving thanks, I want to express how honored I am to serve as your Member of Congress. It is a privilege to elevate the voice of Rhode Islanders in Washington. As your representative, I strive to carry out this work with integrity, humility, and an immense focus on the people and places that make our community strong.
Thanksgiving gives us an opportunity to reflect on all the things we value. As we gather this week, I’m reflecting on our shared goals — to reduce costs, grow economic opportunity, protect and defend our freedoms, and tackle the critical issues facing our state. This is also a time to show up for those in need in our lives, especially for those struggling this holiday season.
In that spirit, I want to thank the everyday heroes who support our community and keep us safe — our service members, first responders, health care professionals, essential workers in all fields, and so many more. We’re all immensely thankful for everything you do.
As you celebrate the holiday, I hope it is full of food, family, friends, and good feelings.
Wishing you a warm and happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely, |
 |
Gabe Amo |

This week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that their efforts have sparked over $1 trillion in private-sector investments.
Thanks to major initiatives like the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, our country’s clean energy and semiconductor manufacturing industries are booming. And we’ve created over 1.6 million manufacturing and construction jobs to help working families.

In Congress, I'm working to support small businesses in our state by bringing down barriers and investing in the infrastructure they rely on. This week, I was proud to help switch on the Big Blue Bug for the holiday season alongside Tiverton's own, Geraldine Perry, who won a contest in 1990 to name the Rhode Island icon: Nibbles Woodaway! |

It was great to stop by the 2024 Smith Hill Turkey Drive and provide updates about work in Congress to address food instability and insecurity.
Thank you to Providence Councilwoman Graves, the Rhode Island State Police, and everyone for the work you are doing to help Rhode Islanders this season. |

After experiencing a fire earlier this year, I am glad to see LDC Incorporated is back at full strength and continuing its long tradition of jewelry manufacturing in our state. I visited their East Providence location to discuss my work to help small businesses in Congress — especially after an emergency when critical support is needed most. |

After being reported missing in action in 1945 during World War II, United States Army Sergeant Hagop Jack Zarifian of North Providence was laid to rest with his family in Rhode Island.
Thank you for your service to our nation. After 79 years, we are grateful to have you home. |

Since moving to Rhode Island in 1994, Atlantic Plywood has been a key player in the state’s economy. In Congress, I'm committed to strengthening the supply chain so that more businesses like them can grow their footprint, employ more workers, and deliver for our community. |

Rep. Amo Participates in AmeriCorps Roundtable Discussion at Robert L. Bailey IV Elementary
Congressman Amo greets elementary students alongside City Year members at Robert L. Bailey IV Elementary.
This week, I had the honor of visiting with AmeriCorps members to discuss their community impact in Rhode Island. I kicked off the day enthusiastically welcoming students arriving to school with high-fives from City Year members and staff at Robert L. Bailey IV Elementary in Providence.
Later, I saw how City Year members are directly supporting the learning experience as tutors, mentors, and role models in the classroom, helping students build confidence and achieve their goals. Their work truly helps to build a brighter future for students in our state.
In a roundtable conversation, AmeriCorps members from City Year, Highlander Charter School, Save the Bay, RI Free Clinic, RI Audubon Society, and the Providence Revolving Fund shared inspiring stories about their experiences working across key organizations in our state. We discussed the personal and professional growth members experience during their service, from developing leadership skills to preparing for careers in education, public service, and beyond.
These stories reaffirm why I am a proud supporter of AmeriCorps and City Year. AmeriCorps members tackle some of our state’s most pressing challenges, from improving education outcomes to protecting our environment and addressing housing insecurity. Since 1994, over 8,500 Rhode Islanders have served through AmeriCorps, contributing more than 12 million hours of service and earning $30.4 million in awards to further their education.
