John, I want to wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving.
In the wake of the disappointment of this month’s elections and our shared concerns for what lies ahead, there is still so much for which I’m grateful.
I’m thankful for my children, grandchildren, and health. I’m thankful for the continued opportunity to represent the people of South Carolina’s 6th District. And I’m thankful for you, John -- for your commitment to our work together, your generous contributions this past year, and for all I know you will continue to do for our movement in the coming year.
We have a difficult fight ahead of us and I’m counting on you to stay engaged with our efforts. We can’t afford to get discouraged or give up. We must keep fighting for what we believe: justice, equality, and opportunity for all.
I’m grateful I can count on you to be in this fight with me. Thank you again for all you do, and happy Thanksgiving.
